Mission Statement:

To bring glory to God through a variety of musical mediums and styles and to offer an opportunity for people of all ages to use the gifts God has given them in the ministry of First Church.

The Chancel Choir is a spirited group that provides music ministry at the Sunday morning service and other special events throughout the year. New singers are always welcome at any time. No audition is required. The only requirement is the love of singing and the joy of ministry. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m., September through May. Jim Brown, director. The Good News Singers ensemble leads worship at the casual, contemporary worship service. Most material is contemporary Christian. No audition is required. The group rehearses on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m., and is active year-round. Contact Jim Brown at 319-334-4845.

The Bell Choir performs once per month and rehearses on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m., September through May. Jim Brown directs this group of Old English Ringers. Anyone interested in bells is encouraged to attend rehearsals. No experience is neccesary.

"The Blessed Promise Band" is the newest addition to the music ministry at First Church. This instrumental group leads worship twice a month. Participation on any instrument is encouraged. An active Sunday School music program involves all ages of singers in Sunday morning worship. Classes of different ages sing in worship once per month. Contact Jami Tekippe at 319-334-3183.
